Lesson One. Gravity.

Alright! So there is this thing! It's big and orange, and makes nasty faces out you, even though you told it not to! This thing hold Earth in it's gravitational pull right? Not just earth, like, fifty other planets! And you're not a planet! You're not even close to being the size of a planet! So, what stops the sun from snatching you up, and flinging into space where you'll be trapped forever, and eaten by alien spores!? This street light, that's what!!

Afuu, would be seen by anyone nearby as a girl playing some silly game. Of course, she was really jumping from lamp to lamp to avoid being sucked into space by the sun, or flung from the Earth by the force of its rotation. That's not so hard to grasp right? Of course she was going no where in particular, but the SECOND she see's a door she can reach in a single stride she will have found the building she will live in safely for the rest of her natural life. Maybe even unnatural! Who's to say ghosts don't get eaten by the sun!? They don't even have legs to give them traction right!? RIGHT!?!?!

James was walking down the sidwalk, enjoying the warmth of the sun while eating oreos, "this is a wonderful day" he murmured happily, a black bird flew down and landed on his shoulder. He was talking to the black bird when he stopped in front of Afuu with a raised eyebrow "um.....hello" he said, trying to be friendly

Afuu's head snapped to James the moment he spoke."H-hey! What are you doing out there!? The sun'll eat you if you don't grab onto something!" She called out frantically, as if he were a thousand miles in the distance, and holding no trace of jesting in her worried tone. She seems to reach out an arm to grab him, but almost instantly retracts it to secure herself on the street lamp once more.

"The sun?..." James murmured, looking up at the sky, he shielded his eyes from most of the light using his hand. Of course the sun was laughing, as usual, so James assumed thats what she meant "don't worry" James chuckled, looking at Afuu "the sun can't get you, it's in space"

Afuu's eye's narrowed at the stranger, and she found herself less than trusting of his diagnosis. "S-so is everything else if you think about. It could just flick you right off of the planet!" She yelled, squeezing both the pole, and her eyes shut. Her mind locked onto the /fact/ now, with great intensity, she all but loses the will to move from her safe spot with the lamp.

James gave her a warm humor filled smile "well, the only reason we aren't being sucked into space is gravity,it keeps up on the ground and keeps the earth in orbit" he explained, being a moon warlock he had to be knowledgeable about gravity

Afuu slid down to hug the base of the pole. "No! I'm not letting go! You probably work for the moon, or something. You just want it to eat me!" She wrapped her arms more tightly around the lamp now; if that was even possible.

"Oh, no, no, I would never want someone to get hurt, besides, the moon can't get to you" James said before signalling towards a group of people walking by "gravity keeps us on earth, as I said before, plus the moon is miles and miles away from the earth, it's being kept in place also by gravity, as long as there's gravity you'll be saf

Afuu opened a single eye, her grip loosening slightly. "Y-you promise?" She stammered, considering letting go. "And you'll catch me if I start to float away?" Afuu stood to her feet. Not to say she is trusting of strangers, but she is definitely trusting of strangers.

"I promise, you won't float away" James said wjth a sweet, genuine smile

Afuu nodded lightly, and swallowed harshly. After a moment of hard thought, she leaps from the pole, and wrapped her arms around James. Alright, so she didn't really accomplish what she was supposed to, but hey, it's a start. "N-not gone yet..."

James let out a little 'oof!' When Afuu hugged him, we was a bit surprised she did that, but it didn't keep him from chuckling warmly "my name is James, whats yours?"

Afuu squeezed her arms tightly around James, and has absolutely no intention of letting go. "I'm the Especial Theory of Rudimentary Drive." She stated in a factual tone. From this distance James could not that Afuu did not breathe, and that her skin was a flawlessly smooth organ with the feel of porcelain. This was no simple girl.

James didn't want to seem rude, so he just chuckled and smiled, he was actually quiet confused and curious of what afuu was "so where'd you come from?" He asked

Afuu, continued to squeeze James, speaking into him. "I came from site 3. M-my mom dropped me while she was running. I don't know where she is now." She hicced as if to cry, but oddly there were no tears. "H-have you seen her? She ran this way just a few hours ago..."

James shook his head sadly "sorry but I haven't, could you tell me what your mother looks like?"

Afuu sniffled, and tried to piece together a description with the limited vocabulary at her disposal. "Um... She has dark hair, and she's super tall, and she always wears a white coat!" She managed after a few moments of thought. Naturally, this was an incredibly vague, and pathetic description. What could you expect from someone a day old.

"Ok, want me to help you find her?" James asked kindly

Afuu sniffled a few times, and then shook her head. "T-there's no way we'll find her. She left hours ago, and we;ll never catch up with the man chasing her." Her eye's drew up to James' face, and then she quickly buried her own back into him. "It's pointless! Mommy left me!" She contested, still holding onto him as tight as her small arms could.

James felt sorry for Afuu, he knew that loosing a mother was virtually unbearable, so wasn't going to give up on the idea that Afuu's mom just lost her and didn't abandon her, James petted her head gently as he spoke "we should try finding her anyway"

Afuu gave another short sniffle, then glanced up to James with a weak, but hopeful smile. "Y-you'll help me find her?" She managed past another sniff, her tone cheery. He smile seemed to fade quick, and she pressed her face into the boy again. "But I don't even know where to start..." Her voice faded from it's former chirpy manner, and into disconnected monotone.

"Well lets start from the beginning, where did you see your mom last?" James said calmly

"Way over there." Afuu said pointing back to a completely undefined distance in the direction she had came. "She was being chased by some people, and dropped me." She tried to explain. It was obvious she was struggling with the language.

James didn't want to point that out, why kick her when she's already down? Instead he gave her a heart warming smile and replied sweetly "I guess we should go over there and follow any traces of your mother"

Afuu engulfed James' arm with a hug. His smile was relaxing, but she still seemed to tremble on his arm. The girl had unusually smooth skin, almost glass-like, and she was burning up as if she had a fever. "Mommy's that way though. You're going the wrong way." She thought in her simple child-like mind. It made sense to her after all, so why wouldn't it to him, right?

this girl definitely isn't human, James thought, though he smiled warmly "we start from the beginning so we can follow all the tracks, the only way to start from thr beginning" he replied calmly

"Alright..." She responded. She really didn't understand the concept, but James was older, so he knew best, right? Pulling him, she starts to lead James to the place this all started... Well... The place it started for her anyways.

James used his keen eyesight to search for any type of clue, a foot print, forgotten objects, and most importantly a scent, he guessed that the scent on Afuu would be similar to her mother
