Lesson One. Gravity.

James sighed and squirmed out of the room like a worm, hopefully Raven or Damien could help get her off

Afuu grumbled, waking up with a whine as James squirmed about. "Still tired..." She softly grumbled, and hung onto James, hoping it would be enough to make him stop, and allow her to sleep a bit more.

James squirmed into the living room where Damien and Raven were waiting for him, "good morning guys..." James sighed, Damien lifted an eyebrow "who's that'" he asked "That's Afuu" Raven answered as she bent down to get Afuu off of james and pick her up

Afuu wasn't keen of letting go of James, but in her still tired state, she didn't mind as long as she had someone to hang onto. She groaned, and quickly latched onto Raven like a koala, and fell asleep with her arms tightly wrapping the girl.

"Well, she's obviously getting.in the way of our training..." Damien commented "Well, I don't mind skipping this morning, I can babysit" Raven said with a chuckle "are you sure? I was the one who brought her here" James said "I'm positive, you two go out and practice" cRaven said with a smile, and with thst said the two boys left Raven woth Afuu

Afuu lifted her head to see the boys leaving. That meant James. She whined in fear, and worry. She had no idea what this woman was like. In a strange act of twisted feeling, she entangles her body more tightly around Raven for comfort. Sure, the chick was the center of her discomfort, but that didn't mean she couldn't be comforting as well.

Raven gently started petting Afuu "you can go back to sleep if you want..." she murmured softly , she didn't want her to feel uncomfortable

Afuu nodded somewhat solemnly, and nuzzled into Raven's arm. She wasn't entirely confident in Raven's protection, or James' choice in leaving her in it, but she was so very tired. What's the worst that could happen? Suddenly, Afuu's mind raced through what exactly WAS the worst that could happen. She jolted, and pushed away from Raven with all of her strength in fear of insane conclusions.

Raven tilted her head, looking extremely concerned "What's wrong, Afuu?" She asked in worry, Did I do something wrong?...... she thought

Loose from Raven's arms, Afuu ran in a avid panic. She completely ignored whatever it was that the woman was saying to her, and made a dive under the bed. "I-I want James! Why did James leave!?" She choked up a bit, but managed to sound less terrified than she actually was.

Raven went to the room that Afuu was In and sat on the bed, sighing sadly "Afuu, he'll come back...."

Afuu's lip quivered in sadness, and a slight anxiety. What about mom? She never came back. Afuu decided she might be able to trust the woman's word on it, but was still skeptical."W-when?..."

"In a few minutes, James wouldn't be gone long knowing your here" Raven said calmly

Afuu stared at the feet of her current care-taker, her face still twisted in worry, her voice littered with it. "Y-you promise?..." She whimpered. You can't break a promise.

Raven gently pated her on the head as she gave her a sweet smile "I promise"

Afuu retreated from the touch, and cringed when Raven made contact. "O-okay..." She muttered under her breath, and relaxed where she was. It was now her very well thought plan to stay in this exact spot until James had returned.

Raven sat there as well, for about five minutes before James back. "Afuu?" James called out from the living room

Afuu gave a delighted gasp, and without a word took off towards the living room the moment she hear James' voice. She leaped into a hug, and attempted to latch onto James once more. "I-I missed you..." She managed through a slightly embarressed tone.

James simply smiled sweetly and pat her on the head, I hope she was alright here.. he thought

Afuu was exactly -alright-. While terrified having been thrown into a world she absolutely doesn't understand, or know how to trust, she was beginning to gain her bearings. There was obviously less tension in her than there was yesterday, despite how long she had to go. "Please try not to leave for too long..."

James chuckled and hugged her "I'll try, ok Afuu?" He said, "I beat she's probably hungry" Raven said

Afuu simply basked in the warmth, and comfort of James' familiar arms. But sh registered something. Hungry? What's hungry? She shrugged off the thought. It was just more strange adult talk she didn't care about.

"Oh yeah, are you hungry, Afuu?" James asked, Does she even need to eat? he thought, remembering her inhuman qualities

Afuu's ear twitched at being addressed. She thought for a moment. Adults must be so ridiculous sometimes. "How can I be Hungry? I'm not Hungry, I'm Afuu." She stated once more in a factual tone. James really was very silly.

James raised an eyebrow "You don't know what "hungry" means?" He asked, perhaps this girl truly didn't need food

Afuu looked up to James again, and had a few more wondering blinks. So, hungry was a word, not a name? "What is hungry?" She asked in a raw child tone of curiosity.

"Hungry means you need food, you know what food is right?" James asked

Afuu thought for a moment, trying her hardest to find the answer. It was futile though. She had never heard this word. She wanted to impress James, but didn't have what he wanted. She looked to her feet in disappointment with herself. "N-no..."

James kneeled down to her level, which wouldn't be much considering that James is only 7 years old, and gave Afuu a reassuring smile "It's alright, Afuu, you'll probably learn sooner or later" he said sweetly, She probably doesn't even need food, James thought, what exactly was this girl?

Afuu smiled at James' gentle expression, her own growing as he reassured her. She was sure that she would get it now. Whatever it was that she needed to get. And she would hate to let James down. "Okay! I will." She chirped in her encouraged tone.
