Nagisa and Deck. A new Weapon and Meister pair?

Nagisa was absolutely exhausted. The young girl had just finished at the DWMA and was walking down toward Death City again. This was her third day, and already she was so tired. She guessed she should've expected it though. With her sickness and all, she got tired tying her shoes sometimes, so all these classes and activities were wearing her out. Besides that, it was already her third day, and she hadn't found a Weapon. She had been living at a nearby hotel by herself, and her parents really wanted her to have a Weapon partner that she could rely on to take care of her if she needed it. Still, she didn't plan on telling this Weapon why she needed taken care of. She figured if she could hide it well enough, that she would be fine, and she could really prove herself as strong. It was wishful thinking, of course, but she had to think that way at times. The whole prospect of this adventure excited her, and she wasn't going to let something as small as being sick ruin it for her. She smiled as she headed to sit down on a curb, her back starting to hurt a little and sending her warning signs that she needed a rest, and pretty urgently, too.

Deck was leaning against the wall. Urgh, today had sucked. Jesus, WHY had he taken tracking as a class? What was the point? 

...

Oh yeah. Hunting down KE's. Ah well. 

It had been a few weeks since the weapon had started at the DWMA. Hell, he had even gone on a mission. Still didn't have a meister, though.

What am I doing wrong? Most weapons HAVE meisters by this time. Maybe I'm just not being assertive enough?

Naaaah.


Sighing, Deck pressed a button on the side of his headphones, and listened as they began pumping out some smooth, old school jazz. Of course, twas then he saw someone walking. A girl. She looked....Ill. "Hey, you! You alright?"

Nagisa jumped a bit at the sound of someone's voice. She looked up at the noise, her amber eyes round. She forced a small smile and got to her feet, unable to hide the small stumble as she caught her balance. "Hey. Yeah, I'm okay, thank you for asking. Did I look like I wasn't okay?" she asked with a small chuckle. She didn't doubt she looked sick. She rubbed her arm where it was getting too sore and looked the guy up and down, unable to think of something else to say. She was not a shy girl by any means, just quiet.

Deck would raise his eyebrow underneath his sunglasses. "Miss, you look like a stiff wind could knock you over right now. You need me to call a ride or....? Also, names Deck, by the way. Please refrain from making the obvious joke."

Nagisa made a face. "I do not," she argued pointedly. "I'm perfectly fine. Thank you for your concern, but I can walk to the hotel," she said with a small smile. "I'm Nagisa. Nagisa Syrenne. It's nice to meet you, Mister Deck. And why would I make a joke out of your name? I actually kind of like it," she said, extending one small hand out so he could shake it.

Deck would shrug, and reach out and give her hand a brief shake. "Eh. Thanks, I guess? So, you a student?" After all, not like a native Nevadian would have a name quite so...colorful, even in the melting pot that was Death City.

Nagisa smiled slightly at him and nodded. "Mhm. I'm a Meister at the DWMA. Are you?" she asked, tilting her head and pulling her hand away. She watched him through round, expressive amber eyes and turned to sit back down on the curb, her legs getting sore. A small concerned look crossed her face before she erased it and just rubbed her thighs and calves.

"At the DWMA? Yes. Meister? Nooooope." With that, Deck would summon one of his signature cards, ephemeral, ghostly cards that glowed slightly. "Weapon. Phantom Razor Cards. Hence the name 'Deck'."

Nagisa continued rubbing her legs and looked a bit surprised when the card appeared from nowhere. "Wow, that's so cool!" she ogled, smiling slightly. "Most of the weapons I've seen are swords, knives or guns. Do you have a Meister?" she asked him, then stretched her legs out in front of her. She blushed a bit and pulled them back in. "Sorry, I'm a little sore today." That was a huge understatement. She honestly felt achy all over, and like all she wanted to do was lay down and sleep for a hundred years.

"...Never heard of the 'Error' weapon bloodline, have you? Yeah, people aren't really jumping out of their seats to meister with me." Deck shrugged. "Eh, no big deal, I guess. Look, their's a cafe nearbye we can chat at, and honestly, you look like you need to rest for a bit. Plus, the coffee is amazing."

"I'll be your Meister," Nagisa offered automatically, without any hesitation or anything of the sort in her voice as she got to her feet and hopped a bit, grinning with a small laugh. "See? I'm jumping out of my seat," she told him, laughing at her own corny joke before shrugging her shoulders. "But really, though. I would be your Meister if we can resonate. And I don't know if I like coffee," she admitted with a small, sheepish smile. "But I would like to sit down."

"Coffee, my dear, is an acquired taste. And, if we can resonate, sure. It'd be nice to have a meister. Anyways, its this way." With that, Deck began walking. "So, any interest in music whatsoever?"

Nagisa followed him with a bright smile, nodding a bit. "I like every kind of music. I listened to it a lot when I was younger," she said as she followed him, stumbling every now and again. "Why do you ask?"

"Because there is no way my meister is going to be a music hater. Particular genre or band you like?" They had reached the outside of a small looking cafe. Pushing open the door, Deck entered, and sat at the closest table.

Nagisa blinked slowly at him and shrugged her shoulder. "I really like music with a lot of piano, violin or any other calming instruments," she said with a small smile as she sat across from him, stretching her legs out with a wince of pain. She really wasn't feeling well now, her body aching. She almost wanted to cough, but she forced herself not to.

"A classical fan, eh? Heh, nothing wrong with that. Better than that garbage they call 'pop' music. Myself, I like the oldies, the Beetles, Elvis, Sinatra, and Johnny Fuckin Horton. Guy's badass, man. EY, MIRIAM, GET ME A LARGE COFFEE, MILK, LITTLE SUGAR!" He would shout at the waitress. "Anyways, want a coffe, expresso, anything? You look like you could use some Caffeine, to be frank."

Nagisa smiled a bit at him when he listed off people he liked, then jumped when he shouted. "Oh, I don't know. Something sweet?" she tried, worrying her bottom lip. "I don't know if caffeine will help me or not, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to try. Whatever you recommend that's really, really sweet and hot," she said with a smile, her golden eyes warm.

"Got it. SHE'LL HAVE A HOT CHOCOLATE!" Deck would then lean back in his chair, and let out a sigh. "They'll have it out in a second. Anyways, you have any prior training, or are you new to being a meister?"

Nagisa jumped a bit again when he shouted, then rubbed her head. "Thank you," she said, regardless, then offered him a smile. "No, I'm pretty new. As a matter of fact, I-" She broke off, getting almost unbearably dizzy, and had to rest her hands on the table and squeeze her eyes shut as she felt her fever spike.

Deck would blink. "Whoa, you okay? I need to call you someone to come get you or something?" She was REALLY not looking well at all... 

He reached into his pocket and pulled out his cell...

Nagisa shook her head, rubbing her eyes as she lifted it from the table. "S-sorry. I just don't feel well. There isn't anyone you can call, and there isn't anything you can do. I'm okay..." She tried to stand up, shaking a bit as her body ached in protest to that action. "I'm really sorry, but I guess if I wanted to be your partner, then you should probably know that I'm not very physically strong. In fact, I guess I'm weak. If we're being perfectly honest, no one would want to be my partner at all. I wouldn't want to trick you into it," she mumbled, sitting back down as her back started to spasm just a bit.

"....Heh." Deck would lean back. 

"Look, my weapon form, weilding it requires more speed than strength. Phantom Razor Cards, remember? Striking at range and all that. So long as you can dodge good and have good aim, I doubt we'll have problems."

The coffee and hot chocolate would then arrive, steaming hot. Lowering his scarf, Deck took a sip. "Anyways, there are ALWAYS things we can do. Find a witch with healing magic, find a guy with a magic tool, yadda yadda. When you join the DWMA, solutions that aren't normally open present themselves. Moving on, you need a cab or something to get home?"

Nagisa took the hot chocolate, smiling a bit at him with tired eyes. "I know that. It's part of the reason I wanted to pick you so quickly. I can't lift a sword, or axe or mace. I'm not strong enough. Besides that, I don't want a witch to touch me, and I don't think there's anything anyone can do for me. I'm all right. I'm fine with it," she said with a small smile, obviously enjoying her hot chocolate. "I don't think I need a cab. I can walk just fine." She offered him a smile.
