PostSubject: All is Not Dead (Social/Non-combative)   Wed Feb 25, 2015 7:03 pm

Cori stretched, and moved from the bed of the truck. It wasn't an easy thing for a vampire to move from town to town, and not be caught in day-light, but she had been lucky enough to make it this far. She had to be. She had no home, or means of getting one. That's what happens when a vampire destroys your home, and turns you at the age of 14.

At least she wouldn't have to feed again for a while. As long as she stayed out of any taxing nasty business, that act was a long way away from her for now. The sun had only just gone down, and it was another day without direction. No food, no job, no friends. What to do aside from stand in this town among the nights non-existent crowds?

The little girl stumbled down the street, cheeks stained with tears. She didn't know where she was and she was terrified. Every five steps she tripped on her barefeet and bumped into a person or object. The world was blurry and her body was so heavy, she didn't know how long she could keep going. She had to keep going. She had to find her sister, but everything spun so quickly.
Amellynne sniffled and wiped her eyes, slightly clearing her vision enough to see a truck in front of her right before she hit it.
A muffled thunk followed by sharp pain struck Ame's senses, and she fell to the ground. Her tears doubled and she began to sob loudly.

Cori's head quickly flicked to the direction of the sobbing next to her. A girl? What had happened just now? Did she run into the truck?.... How? Cori vaulted over the side of the truck to land next to the strange girl. She reached a hand that stopped just short of the stranger. "You... You alright?" She offered in the calmest, most concerned tone she could manage through her still groggy mind. It was important not to get connected, as a vampire. She would give the girl a bandage, and send her on her way...

Amellynne could hear the other girl talking to her. She sounded concerned. She sounded... familiar. The voice... merely thinking about it made her cry even more. It couldn't be her sister. Her sister would hug her and tell her that everything would be alright and wash off her face and hold her in her lap and she would stop the pain the second her sister saw her. Instead, the girl with the voice wouldn't even touch her. The hand Ame could tell was near through her blurry eyesight made no move to comfort her.

Cori flinched as the crying picked up. Had she scared her somehow? She retracted the hand back into her own chest. She had dealt with children back at home, but things were different now. She wasn't the same person as she was then. "Um... T-there there. You're going to be alright." She assured, offering a smile. She thought to hug the girl, but it seemed like that presented a pretty girl chance of being bit. "Are you hurt? I have some bandages." She continued in a concerned tone, not sure if the girl could hear her over her own crying.

Amellynne's tears burned streaks down her face, and her sobs deprived her of a steady flow of oxygen. She cried out for her sister over and over agian, so desperately needing the gentle touch her sister always gave. Ame couldn't hear anything through her sobs, or see past her tears at all.
She wanted her sister's gentle touch and tender love. She wanted to feel a warm hug and those soft tiny little kisses that only sisters could give. Ame couldn't remember why, but somehow she knew that she'd never feel those kisses agian.

Cori sighed a bit. The girl wasn't listening at all. Whatever had her upset wasn't something she was ready, or perhaps even knows how, to talk about. Surely she couldn't just leave the girl there. After a moments thought on the dilemma, she reached out to hug the girl. Her skin would be a bit cold, but soft like silk. "Um... Everything's going to be fine." She managed to make out in a comforting tone.

Amellynne froze, sobs stiffled by suprise. Arms encircled Ame's form, but they were cold. The arms were soft though, like the fancy dresses Matron used to wear on special days. Ame sniffled and hugged the cold person as they tried to calm her. Maybe this person could help her find her sister? Someone had to know where everyone had gone, maybe this was the person?

"W-wh-where Casey? C-can't find Casey."

Cori hugged the girl firmly, and pulled her head to rest a shoulder. "Casey? She's a friend of yours?" Cori offered gently, and stroked Ame's hair in the most comfortable way her shaky hands could manage. "I'm sure she's around her somewhere. We'll find her together. How does that sound?"

Amellynne sniffled and burrowed her head into the soft comfy place between the girl's neck and shoulder. The cool skin felt wonderful against her bruising forehead and so very safe.

"C-casey... Sister...."

Ame sniffled and showed the girl a very old picture of what seemed to be a younger her and an older girl with shorter hair and darker skin. There was a time stamp on the picture from an undeterminable year, but the styles of dresses they wore clearly indicated 60's era.

"Sister not here, I looked everywhere. C-can't... can't find home..."

Cori looked at the picture wide eyed. That surely wasn't possible. Well, considering who was the vampire here, it was obviously possible, but... How? What was she? Not a vampire. "L-little miss? Do you know what year it is?" The girl was obviously out of her element. Maybe she was sleeping. Or maybe she was a witch. Those live long lives. Suddenly, Cori was wary of the girl. What if this was all a trick?

Amellynne thought hard. She was tired and it was really hard to remember things.

"Six-E two? I think. Not sure... Casey knows. Casey is really smart, she knows everything."

The liitle girl yawned, all of her pain and sorrows forgotten as she cuddled in close to the friendly cold girl. Ame wondered why the girl's skin was so cold as she ran her hand up and down the girl's arm. Maybe she was an ice fairy. The girl was really pretty, and Amellynne started to picture her with delicate fairy wings like the ones her sister talked about in bed time stories.

Cori gave a nervous laugh of disbelief. This obviously wasn't a human girl. Or maybe it was a weird prank. "Right... Um... What are you exactly?" She asked, trying not to sound rude, or as confused as she was. It was best not to upset the girl, and feed whatever fear she was feeling."B-because the year isn't sixty two. D-decades apart in fact..."

Amellynne looked up at the girl, puzzled. Not sixty two? And what was a decade?

"Amellynne is human. Or tree. Not sure...." Ame flopped her wrist around a bit, watching it curiously. "I fell out of a tree trunck and woke up today. I don't remember how I got there. Do people come from trees?"

Ame's dark brown, innocent eyes stared up at Cori looking for an answer, already watering with tears.

"Where is Casey? A-and Lizzy and Connor? Where did every one go?"

The girl certainly seemed to be telling the truth, but... "Um... No. People don't come from tree's..." She half thought, half answered. The way the girl asked with such expecting eyes made her want to say yes, or believe that people actually came from tree's. She probably just fell from one, and has some temporary memory loss, or something silly like that. Cori began feeling around Ame's head for bruising, or a crack. There was just no way she was from 62, right? Her mind drifted to the picture. Prank? "I'm sure they're around here somewhere." She assured, offering a nervous smile.

Ame was confused. "If people don't come from trees then why did I come from a tree? She was really nice, mama Ally. She would sing me to sleep and she told me stories." The little girl giggled as the cold girl tickled her head. It felt funny but it didn't hurt anywhere but where she hit the truck. "Do you really think so? I've looked aaaaaaaaalll over and I can't find anyone."

Cori gave a mental sigh of relief. No damage, and it was so good to hear the girl giggle. Finally a sound that wasn't miserable. She really shouldn't have said that though. She might not be able to find the people the girl was looking for. They might be dead! Cori really had no idea what this girl's story was, but she was certain it wasn't just head trauma. "Only very special girls come from tree's." She said patting the girl on the head. "I'm sure they're somewhere about, but we should probably get you something to eat first. What do you say? Hungry?" She she asked in a light, honey coated tone.
